FAQ
› What are boat shoes?Rooted in traditional nautical fashion, the boat shoe is defined by a rounded toe and a lace that wraps around the entire foot. While it has long relied on animal-derived materials to withstand salt water, we chose to reimagine this timeless classic using recycled plant-based materials such as olive.› Are your boat shoes made from leather? No, our boat shoes are entirely vegan and crafted without any animal skin. Where the conventional textile industry uses animal-derived materials, we use plant-based and recycled materials.› Where are your boat shoes made? All our women's boat shoes are made using a short supply chain in Portugal. We work with Portuguese family-run workshops to ensure artisanal expertise.› How to wear boat shoes?Dare to wear them with pretty visible socks under a midi skirt or high-waisted shorts. For everyday wear, pair your boat shoes or olive shoes with a long pair of jeans that falls over the shoe. And when the warmer days arrive, let the thick sole of this boat moccasin make a statement with your lighter outfits, such as linen trousers or a flowing dress.Delivery and returns

Olive — What the olive groves leave us
The olive oil is extracted. What remains is generally overlooked. At Zèta, that is where everything begins. Skins, stones, olive fragments: all these residues, known as pomace, are ground and then transformed into material for shoes.
A by-product turned resource
After grinding, the olive pomace is mixed with a water-based PU. The resulting paste is then tinted with natural pigments, spread onto a thick canvas and heat-set to stabilise its shape.
It is then cut in Istanbul, before being assembled in our workshops. This process helps limit waste, optimise olive by-products, and offer a viable alternative to less responsible materials.
A commitment to material and product
The material is composed of 87% olive and 13% water-based PU.
It is developed under the Oleatex® certification, a benchmark in plant-based alternatives derived from olive groves.
Why use it?
Because it offers a true hold, good resistance to wear, and a visual finish that remains understated.
And because using agricultural residues is a concrete way of producing differently.
Your feet carry you everywhere — take care of them.
At Zèta, comfort is not a detail — it is a starting point. Where many brands focus solely on style, we take the bold step of combining aesthetics, ethics and well-being at every stage of our shoe development.
Our models are designed to adapt naturally to your foot: supple, lightweight and breathable, they give you the feeling of walking on air — and this is indeed what more than 90% of our customers tell us in their reviews. So it is not just us saying it, it is you.
Say goodbye to blisters and heavy legs: our shoes are with you every step of the way, from the first to the last step of the day.
Shoes that last, with no compromise on comfort.
Our materials are carefully selected to be pleasant to wear and durable over time. Before launch, all our prototypes pass through the hands of the CTCP (Centro Tecnológico do Calçado de Portugal) for flexibility and abrasion testing. They are then tested in real conditions by our team and the members of the Zèta club.
Each pair is hand-assembled by our Portuguese craftspeople, then subjected to rigorous quality control to ensure that your comfort meets our standards — and yours.
