The Soajo derbies are a timeless style combining heritage and modernity.
Designed in our Bordeaux workshop, they are assembled in northern Portugal and feature a stitched sole for optimal durability.Composition
Each component is carefully selected for its durability and place of production.
- Upper: made from olives (87% plant-based and recycled material derived from olive production by-products, 13% bio-based PU).
- Lining: Antibacterial, breathable microfibre made from cereals and OEKO-TEX certified
- Insole: recycled foam
- Outsole: recycled TR
- Laces: recycled cotton.
- Adhesive: vegan, resin-based.
- Box: recycled cardboard.

Olive — What olive groves leave behind
The olive oil is extracted. What remains is usually forgotten. At Zèta, that is where everything begins. Skins, stones, olive fragments: all of these by-products, known as pomace, are crushed and transformed into material for shoes.
A by-product turned resource
After crushing, the olive pomace is blended with a water-based PU. The resulting paste is then dyed with natural pigments, spread onto a thick canvas, and heated to set its structure.
It is then cut in Istanbul and assembled in our workshops. This process minimises waste, upcycles olive by-products, and offers a viable alternative to less sustainable materials.
A commitment to materials and products
The material is made of 87% olive and 13% water-based PU.
It is developed under the Oleatex® certification, a benchmark for plant-based alternatives sourced from olive groves.
Why use it?
Because it provides genuine durability, excellent resistance to daily wear, and a clean, understated finish.
And because repurposing agricultural co-products is a tangible way to produce differently.

Before being launched, all our prototypes are reviewed by the CTCP (Footwear Technological Centre of Portugal) for flexibility and abrasion testing. Then, they are tested in real-life conditions by our team and members of the Zèta club.
Each pair is assembled by hand by our Portuguese artisans, then subjected to rigorous quality control to ensure that your comfort meets our high standards – and yours.

Mais je n'attendais pas les soajos aussi confortables et flexibles grâce au cuir d'olive qui est en plus très agréable au touché. 🤝Ce sont exactement les chaussures de villes élégantes et authentiques que je cherchais.

Ich wünsche mir schon lange vegane Lederschuhe aus weichem Material. Meiner Erfahrung nach sind die üblichen veganen Materialen sehr steif und ich habe immer etwas neidisch auf die Schuhe aus weichem echten Leder geschaut. Hier habe ich sie endlich gefunden. Sie sind unglaublich bequem, ich muss sie nicht erst einlaufen. Sie sehen zudem sehr schick aus und sind sehr gut verarbeitet. Ich trage sie sehr gerne. Zunächst hatte ich sie in meiner üblichen Größe bestellt, die dann aber viel zu groß waren. Der Umtausch verlief problemlos, Zeta hat ein bequemes System geschaffen, um das zu regeln.
