ARTICLE 1 – PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED
Order & browsing on our site:
When you make a purchase or create a customer account on our site, as part of our buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you provide to us that is necessary to prepare and deliver your parcel, such as your name, your address and your email address, your postal address and your phone number.
This order data is transmitted to our logistics providers, who prepare and transport the parcel to your address. They are strictly prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than processing your order and must delete this data from their IT systems once processing is complete. If you choose to have your order delivered outside Europe, your data such as your postal address will necessarily be transmitted to the logistics services of the carrier who will deliver to you in that country.
When you browse our site, we automatically receive the Internet Protocol address (IP address) of your computer, which allows us to obtain further details about the browser and operating system you are using. Furthermore, data may be stored in or retrieved from your browser, generally in the form of cookies. They gather information about you, your preferences or your device and browser. They are generally set in response to actions you have taken that constitute a request for services (e.g. an order).
Emails:
If you have chosen to follow the Zèta adventure by email (via the form on our site or by ticking the relevant box during the purchase process), we use your email address to send you Zèta news or to provide you with information relating to your purchase or browsing history on our site. Please note that if you no longer wish to receive these emails, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the emails or by contacting us at hello@zeta-shoes.com. This takes effect immediately.
The emailing tool we use is American. It complies with the principles of the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield. Furthermore, as a "processor", this emailing tool is required to comply with the legal requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Audience measurement:
We use audience analysis tools (such as Google Analytics) that allow us to better understand activity on our site, how you interact with it, and to improve our site's performance so that it corresponds as closely as possible to your usage. To this end, we make available to these tools data on your browsing history on our site and information on products ordered. All data processed for statistical purposes outside Europe is fully anonymised.
Advertising:
Like many of our peers, advertising cookies are placed when you visit our site in order to subsequently display targeted advertising messages when you browse other sites. The data collected is anonymous and is used solely within the scope of advertising functionalities.
How long is my personal data retained?
The length of time for which we retain personal data depends on our business needs and our legal obligations.
In the context of product purchases, we retain your data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected (e.g. managing the commercial relationship between you and us), and for any other related purposes such as monitoring our stock levels, while complying with applicable legislation on data security and retention.
If you agree to receive emails from Zèta to follow our adventure, your data is retained until you request to unsubscribe or to have your personal data deleted, or after a certain period of inactivity (for a maximum of 3 years from the last contact (e.g. a click in one of our emails).
In the event that a customer account is created, the data will be retained until you send us a request to delete it, or after a period of inactivity on your part (for a maximum of 3 years from the end of the commercial relationship (e.g. last order) or the last contact (e.g. a click in one of our emails).
When you contact us to obtain information about our products or our brand, or when you apply for a job offer, your data is retained for only 3 years from the date of collection or the last contact made at your initiative.
ARTICLE 2 – CONSENT
How do you obtain my consent?
When you provide us with your personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange a delivery or return a purchase, we assume that you consent to the collection of your information and its use for that purpose only.
If we ask you to provide us with your personal information for another reason, such as for marketing purposes, we will ask you directly for your explicit consent, or we will give you the opportunity to refuse.
How can I withdraw my consent?

ARTICLE 3 – COOKIES
When you browse our site or place an order, data may be stored in or retrieved from your browser, generally in the form of cookies. A cookie is a small text file saved by the browser of your computer, tablet or smartphone that allows user data to be stored in order to facilitate browsing and to enable certain other features.
We use first-party cookies, placed by Zèta for the proper functioning of our site; most of these cookies cannot be disabled in our systems. They allow us to remember information you have entered in forms on our site so that you do not have to enter it again during your visit, and also to manage and secure access to your account or your shopping basket.
The following is a non-exhaustive list of cookies related to the operation of our site:
- session_id: unique session identifier, allows Shopify to store information relating to your session (referrer, landing page, etc.)
- shopify_visit: no data retained, persists for 30 minutes from the last visit. Used by the internal statistics tracking system of our website provider to record the number of visits.
- shopify_uniq: no data retained, expires at midnight (according to the visitor's location) on the following day. Calculates the number of visits to a shop by each unique customer.
- cart: unique identifier, persists for 2 weeks, stores information relating to your shopping basket.
- secure_session_id: unique session identifier
- storefront_digest: unique identifier, undefined if the shop has a password; it is used to determine whether the current visitor has access.

You can configure your browser to be notified of the existence of cookies or to block them. Should you choose to block these cookies, certain features of our site may be affected (such as, for example, keeping items in your basket). Most of these cookies expire when you end your visit to our sites. Others have a longer lifespan, not exceeding 12 months, in accordance with current regulations. ARTICLE 4 – DISCLOSURE
We will disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, or if you violate our general terms and conditions of sale and use, or to protect our rights, our property or our safety as well as those of third parties.
We have taken the necessary precautions to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will therefore not share your personal information with third parties without your prior consent (except as provided above). As explained above, your information may be communicated to trusted third parties who assist us in the administration and proper functioning of our site, to the extent that these partners commit to keeping this information confidential. Only data that does not directly identify you (e.g. cookies) may be passed on to our partners for marketing or advertising purposes. You may of course choose to object to this.
ARTICLE 5 – SHOPIFY
Our shop is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our services and products to you.
Your data is stored in Shopify's data storage system and databases, and in the general Shopify application. Your data is kept on a secure server protected by a firewall.
Payment:
If you make your purchase through a direct payment gateway, Shopify will store your credit card information. This information is encrypted in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). The information relating to your purchase transaction is retained for as long as necessary to finalise your order. Once your order is finalised, the information relating to the purchase transaction is deleted.
All direct payment gateways comply with the PCI-DSS standard, managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is the result of the joint efforts of companies such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
The PCI-DSS requirements ensure the secure processing of credit card data by our shop and its service providers.

ARTICLE 6 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
In general, the third-party providers we use will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies with respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase transactions.
Regarding these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies carefully so that you can understand the manner in which they will handle your personal information.
It should not be forgotten that some providers may be located or have facilities located in a jurisdiction different from your own or ours. Therefore, if you decide to proceed with a transaction that requires the services of a third-party provider, your information may then be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which that provider is located or those of the jurisdiction in which its facilities are situated.
For example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, your information used to complete the transaction may be disclosed under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.
Once you leave our shop's website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or the General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use of our website.

ARTICLE 7 – SECURITY
To protect your personal data, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to ensure that it is not lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed inappropriately.
If you provide us with your credit card information, it will be encrypted through the use of the SSL security protocol and stored with AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we comply with all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional standards generally recognised by the industry.
Finally, we recommend that you adopt the following security measures to improve your security on the Internet:
- When creating an account, use a minimum of 8 characters for your password, combining letters (upper and lower case) and numbers. Do not use your name or any other personal data that could be easily obtained.
- Keep your passwords confidential and avoid using the same password for multiple accounts.
ARTICLE 8 – AGE OF CONSENT
By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, and that you have given us your consent to allow any minor dependants to use this website.
ARTICLE 9 – CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their publication on the website. If we make changes to the content of this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you know what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it, should that be the case.
If our shop is acquired by or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
