One Talk Beyond is our exclusive series where we step inside artists' studios to explore the origins of creation. For this 2nd edition of One Talk Beyond, we head to Paris, where Pierre Brault welcomes us into his world: a studio-laboratory where science and design converge.
Meet Pierre Brault
Pierre Brault is a designer-researcher whose playground balances scientific precision and poetry. Fascinated by light’s power to reveal materials, he crafts coloured Plexiglas compositions that transform with shifting reflections and shadows. Each piece questions our relationship with time: natural cycles, the subtle evolution of textures, and how a single beam of sunlight can completely reshape a work of art. Through his work, Pierre invites us to experience art as a living phenomenon, like an endless dialogue between matter and light.
An inspiring encounter
This encounter with Pierre Brault reminds us that art can bridge rigorous observation of the world and boundless imagination. His studio, halfway between a laboratory and an artist's atelier, invites us to rediscover the beauty of everyday phenomena – the diffraction of a light ray, the juxtaposition of two pure colours, the imperceptible dance of shadows across a transparent surface. A suspended moment that invites us to open our eyes to the spectacular infinities around us.
