Our vision for barefoot trainers

For a long time, we thought a good shoe should guide the foot.

At Zèta, we’ve chosen a different approach. Rather than trying to correct the foot, we give it back the space it needs.

True to who we are, they’re handmade in Portugal in our family-run workshop using vegan and recycled materials. And because trainers you wear every day should also be a pleasure to put on, we’ve refined the design to create a timeless silhouette that’s easy to style.

A pair that finally lets you feel at home in your trainers!

Your questions about barefoot

What is a barefoot shoe?

A barefoot shoe is designed to respect the natural movement of the foot.

Closer to the ground, it leaves more room for the toes, moves with your every step, and delivers a more natural feel. The goal isn't to walk barefoot, but to rediscover a freer way of walking!

What is the difference between a barefoot trainer and a traditional trainer?

The human foot has 26 bones. It is made to move, adapt, and feel.

Traditional trainers, on the other hand, are often built around a few key zones: the heel, the arch, the forefoot. More cushioning, more support, extra thickness. On paper, it sounds reassuring. But by guiding the foot too much, we sometimes end up leaving it with less freedom.

Barefoot trainers follow a different logic: they bring the foot closer to the ground, leave more room for the toes, and support natural step dynamics to let the foot move more freely.

Why wear barefoot shoes?

For millennia, our feet evolved to walk freely. Barefoot shoes are inspired by this philosophy, giving the foot the space it needs to move naturally.

At Zèta, we believe in giving the foot its space back, rather than correcting it!

Why choose Zèta trainers?

Zèta barefoot trainers were born from a simple conviction: a shoe that respects the foot shouldn't look like technical footwear.

So, we brought together the best of both worlds. A barefoot design that gives your feet more freedom of movement and a sleek silhouette inspired by our sneakers, designed to be worn every day.

Like all our pairs, they are handmade in Portugal in our family-run workshop, using vegan and recycled materials selected for their quality and durability.
