Take the leap towards more ethical fashion!

Sauter le pas vers une mode plus éthique !

Every day, thousands of garments are sold across the world.
Overconsumption that severely impacts our daily lives.
A few figures to put things into perspective:

  • More than 40% of the clothes we buy are rarely or never worn (and remain tucked away in our wardrobes)
  • 74% of French people consider the price of an ethical fashion product to be a barrier.
  • There are traditionally 4 seasonal collections per year. Today, fast fashion brings us up to 36. These transient collections fuel both overproduction and overconsumption.

Buy less, but better: the new challenge?

Why adopt ethical fashion?

The fashion industry, and especially footwear, is an industry that changes with passing trends, generating tonnes of waste.
Did you know that a pair of shoes is equivalent to 14kg of CO2 emitted?
If a single pair can alter the balance of our entire ecosystem, what would the impact of 415 million pairs be?

Alternatives exist: ethical and sustainable fashion is living proof.

How to adopt an ethical approach?

Focussing on timeless design

Fast fashion constantly encourages us to renew our wardrobes.
However, investing in timeless pieces made from sustainable materials is a long-term investment. Trends never last forever: opting for clothes made from materials that do not rely on chemical manufacturing is a first step towards more mindful fashion.

Buying at a fair price

Buying at “fair value” means taking into account every stakeholder involved in the creation of your ethical clothes or shoes.
Unlike fast fashion, ethical fashion ensures fair wage conditions and rejects mass consumption.

Reducing your environmental impact

Excessive water consumption, chemical waste discharge, cotton cultivation, raw material production… The fashion industry pollutes and we know it. Limiting its impact has become an urgent matter. Every year, more than 93 billion m³ of water are used by the fast fashion industry.

Focussing on transparency

Transparency plays an essential role. As consumers, action comes before marketing. A company that communicates to exist and share its strengths, its flaws and its values is a company that stands by its choices.

What is an ethical shoe?

An ethical shoe is made from sustainable and/or local materials. It is crafted with respect for the environment, animals, and people.

An ethical shoe can incorporate upcycling and the recycling of repurposed materials into its design in order to limit the impact of conventional footwear. Beyond environmental considerations, an ethical shoe brand chooses to partner with workshops that care for the well-being of their workers. The craftsmanship of ethical shoes is carried out with full respect for human rights.

Zèta, your ethical shoe brand.

Buy less, but better: that is the challenge we set ourselves.

By crafting eco-responsible footwear, we made the commitment to create durable shoes. Rather than using petroleum-derived materials such as polyester or depleting already limited natural resources, we selected premium recycled materials such as cork and grape marc. Working with short supply chains allows us to reduce transport between our various partners and minimise our carbon footprint. Designed in Bordeaux, our shoes are handcrafted in a small family-run workshop in Portugal.

Knowing your partners and who makes your shoes changes everything!
