Barefoot Root

The Barefoot Root takes its cues from technical running shoes, with a silhouette designed to let your feet move freely. Zero drop, a wide toe box, a flexible sole and sporty details make this a trainer that moves with your feet naturally.

Born to be bare.

NATURAL POSITION

RESTRICTED POSITION

What if your feet could move freely again?

For millennia, humans walked barefoot on earth, rocks and grass. Our feet developed to do just that. Then came cushioned shoes, raised heels and maximum shock absorption: our feet forgot how to walk...

Barefoot shoes are designed to let your feet move more naturally, with more room for your toes, a thin, flexible sole and zero drop.

More freedom and ground feel with every step.

Our vision for barefoot trainers

True to our values, our barefoot shoes are handmade in Portugal in our family-run workshop using vegan and recycled materials. And because trainers worn every day should be a pleasure to put on, we’ve created a pair with a technical running-inspired look and a construction designed to support the foot’s natural movement.

A pair that finally lets you feel comfortable in your trainers!

Your questions about barefoot shoes

What is a barefoot shoe?

A barefoot shoe is designed to respect the foot’s natural movement.

It brings your foot closer to the ground, gives your toes more room, moves with you through every step and offers a more natural feel. The aim isn’t to walk barefoot, but to rediscover a freer way of walking!

What’s the difference between barefoot trainers and conventional trainers?

Each foot has 26 bones. It’s made to move, adapt and feel.

Conventional trainers, by contrast, are often built around a few key areas: the heel, arch and forefoot. More cushioning, more support, more thickness. On paper, that sounds reassuring. But when we guide the foot too much, we can sometimes leave it less freedom to move.

Barefoot trainers take a different approach: they bring the foot closer to the ground, give the toes more room and work with the foot’s natural stance, letting it move more freely.

Why wear barefoot shoes?

For millennia, our feet have evolved to walk freely. Barefoot shoes follow this philosophy by giving your feet the room they need to move naturally.

At Zèta, we believe feet don’t need correcting: they need their space back!

Why choose Zèta trainers?

Zèta barefoot trainers began with a simple belief: shoes that respect your feet shouldn’t have to look like technical footwear.

So we brought together the best of both worlds: a barefoot design that gives your feet greater freedom of movement and a clean silhouette inspired by our trainers, made for everyday wear.

Like all our shoes, they’re handmade in Portugal in our family workshop using vegan and recycled materials selected for their quality and durability.

Is the style unisex?

Yes, the style is unisex and available in sizes 36 to 46. Its fit is designed to suit both women’s and men’s feet!
