ARTICLE 1 – PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED

Orders & browsing on our site:

When you make a purchase or create a customer account on our site, as part of our buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us that is necessary to prepare and deliver your parcel, such as your name, address, email address, postal address, and telephone number.

This order data is transmitted to our logistics providers who prepare and ship the parcel to your home. They are strictly prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than processing your order and must delete this data from their IT systems after processing. If you choose to have your order delivered outside Europe, your data, such as your postal address, is necessarily transmitted to the logistics services of the carrier delivering to you in that country.

When you browse our website, we automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address, which allows us to obtain more details about the browser and operating system you are using. In addition, data may be stored in or retrieved from your browser, generally in the form of cookies. They collect information about you, your preferences or your device and browser. They are generally set in response to actions made by you that amount to a request for services (e.g. placing an order).

Emails:

If you have decided to follow the Zèta journey by email (via the form on our website or by ticking the relevant box during checkout), we use your email address to send you Zèta news or to share information related to your purchase history or browsing on our website. Please note that if you no longer wish to receive these emails, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the emails or by contacting us at hello@zeta-shoes.com. This takes effect immediately.

The email marketing tool we use is American. It complies with the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield principles. Furthermore, as a “processor”, this email marketing tool is required to comply with the legal requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Audience measurement:

We use audience analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that enable us to better understand activity on our website, how you engage with it, and to improve our website's performance so that it best meets your needs. In this regard, we provide these tools with data regarding your browsing history on our site and information on the products ordered. All data processed for statistical purposes outside Europe is completely anonymised.

Advertising:

Like many of our peers, advertising cookies are placed when you visit our website in order to subsequently display targeted adverts when you browse other sites. The data collected is anonymous and is only used for advertising features.

How long is my personal data kept?

The length of time we retain personal data depends on our business needs and legal obligations.

In the context of purchasing products, we retain your data for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected (e.g. managing the commercial relationship between you and us), and for any other related purposes such as monitoring our stock, whilst complying with applicable legislation regarding data security and retention.

If you agree to receive emails from Zèta to follow our journey, your data is retained until you request to unsubscribe or delete your personal data, or after a period of inactivity (for a maximum of 3 years from the last contact, e.g. clicking in one of our emails).

In the event of creating a customer account, data will be kept until you send a request to delete it or after a period of inactivity on your part (for a maximum of 3 years from the end of the commercial relationship, e.g. last order, or from the last contact, e.g. clicking in one of our emails).

When you contact us for information about our products or our brand, or when you apply for a job, the data is kept for only 3 years from the collection date or the last contact initiated by you.

ARTICLE 2 - CONSENT

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with your personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask you to provide your personal information for another reason, such as marketing purposes, we will ask you directly for your explicit consent, or provide you with the opportunity to decline.

How can I withdraw my consent?

If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at any time, by contacting us at hello@zeta-shoes.com

ARTICLE 3 – COOKIES

When you browse our website or place an order, data may be stored in or retrieved from your browser, generally in the form of cookies. A cookie is a small text file saved by your computer, tablet or smartphone browser that stores user data to make browsing easier and enable certain other features.

We use first-party cookies, placed by Zèta for the proper functioning of our website; most of these cookies cannot be disabled in our systems. ARTICLE 4 – DISCLOSURE

We will disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Sale and Use, or to protect our rights, property or safety and those of third parties.

We have taken the necessary precautions to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will therefore not share your personal information with third parties without your prior consent (except as set out above). As explained above, your information may be shared with trusted third parties who assist us in operating and running our website, provided that these partners agree to keep this information confidential. Only non-personally identifiable data (e.g. cookies) may be shared with our partners for marketing or advertising purposes. You may of course choose to object to this.

ARTICLE 5 – SHOPIFY

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our services and products to you.

Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment:

If you make your purchase via a direct payment gateway, Shopify will store your credit card details. This information is encrypted in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS standard). Information relating to your purchase transaction is stored for as long as necessary to complete your order. Once your order is completed, the purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

The requirements of the PCI-DSS standard help ensure the secure handling of credit card data by our store and its service providers.

For more information, please consult Shopify’s Terms of Service here or the Privacy Policy here.

ARTICLE 6 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies regarding the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase transactions.

Regarding these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies carefully so you can understand how your personal information will be handled by them.

Remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

For example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, the information belonging to you that was used to complete the transaction may be disclosed under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use.

If you provide us with your credit card details, they will be encrypted using SSL security protocol and stored with AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

Finally, we recommend adopting the following security measures to enhance your internet security:

  • When you create an account, use at least 8 characters for your password, combining letters (upper and lower case) and numbers. Do not use your name or any other easily obtainable personal data.
  • Keep your passwords confidential and avoid using the same password for multiple accounts

By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependants to use this site.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
