No, our new vegan trainers do not smell of coffee. But they are indeed made from coffee grounds. From the upper to the sole, discover our new vegan trainers made from coffee.
Comfortable and innovative trainers
You loved them, so at the start of this year we brought them back. Here is the Moka, Zèta's new coffee grounds trainer. Following in the footsteps of the Alpha model, made from wine industry by-products, here is its caffeine-packed cousin.
For fans of the Alpha model, you will find a familiar silhouette but with innovative materials and new colourways. This trainer remains just as comfortable as the previous models and also benefits from a removable insole. This allows every foot to feel at ease from the very first step.
Many of you appreciated the packaging of the Vintage model. Indeed, the wooden crate, reminiscent of a wine crate, adds a charm that has been well received. So, for the Moka model, we explored how we could offer you a similarly unique package. The element that best answered this challenge is a jute bag — the traditional packaging for coffee beans. You will therefore receive this new model in a reusable jute canvas bag. This is a sustainable alternative to traditionally offered packaging.
Trainers made from Nespresso coffee grounds
Coffee, grape, corn, grain, recycled plastic, cork... it's easy to get lost among all these materials, isn't it? Fortunately, Marta has summarised it all in a much clearer diagram than any long-winded speech.
Here is the composition of our new Moka model.
This new pair of vegan trainers is created in collaboration with Nespresso. The coffee grounds you will find in the sole and the other elements of these trainers come from Nespresso's recycling circuit.
Zèta and Nespresso share the same commitments to environmental and social responsibility.
Nespresso has a deep and longstanding commitment to sustainability, with circularity as a key element.
The company launched its capsule recycling programme in 1991 and regularly runs campaigns to promote recycling among consumers. Nespresso has also supported numerous circular start-ups.
Our DNA remains unchanged: Always as transparent, always as comfortable, always as eco-friendly and always as ethical.
Ethical production
Throughout our production, we are proud to collaborate with partners who share our values and are just as committed as we are, both environmentally and socially.
Our production workshops are located in Portugal. It was in 1993 that Manuel Oliveira founded his own workshop in Ovar, about forty kilometres from Porto. Having spent his teenage years crafting shoes, he developed his workshop and was joined by his son Tierri, who completed the team of 25 artisans.
This team of true enthusiasts perpetuates artisanal assembly and takes particular care over details and finishes. They were the first to believe in the early stages of the Zèta project in 2019, and today they are at the heart of our trainers and our brand.
Our different colourways
This new model follows in the footsteps of all our trainers: vegan, recycled, recyclable, ethical....
So that this model suits everyone, we have offered it in 3 different colourways. Find all three models below and choose the one (or ones) that appeals to you!
