Every day, thousands of garments are sold around the world.
An overconsumption that cruelly impacts our daily lives.
A few figures to understand:
- More than 40% of the clothes we buy are rarely or never worn (and so remain buried in our wardrobes)
- 74% of French people consider the price of an ethical fashion product to be a barrier.
- There are traditionally 4 collections per year following the seasons. Today, fast fashion offers us up to 36. These short-lived collections drive overproduction as well as overconsumption.
Buy less, but better: the new challenge?
Why embrace ethical fashion?
The fashion industry, and particularly the footwear sector, is an industry that shifts with trends, generating tonnes of recovered materials.
Did you know that a single pair of shoes is equivalent to 14kg of CO2 emitted?
If one pair alone can alter the entire functioning of our ecosystem, what would be the impact of 415 million pairs?
Alternatives exist: ethical and sustainable fashion is proof of that.
How to embrace an ethical approach?
Investing in timeless pieces
Fast fashion encourages us to constantly renew our wardrobe.
However, investing in timeless pieces made from durable materials is a long-term investment. Trends never last forever: choosing clothing made from materials that do not rely on chemical manufacturing is a first step towards a more responsible fashion.
Paying the fair price
Buying at the "fair value" means taking into account every stakeholder involved in the making of your clothing or ethical shoes.
Unlike fast fashion, ethical fashion implies fair working conditions and rejects mass consumption.
Reducing your environmental impact
Excessive water consumption, discharge of chemical waste, cotton farming, material creation… The fashion industry pollutes and we know it. Limiting its impact has become an urgency. Every year, more than 93 billion cubic metres of water are used by the fast fashion industry.
Embracing transparency
Transparency plays a key role. As consumers, action comes even before marketing. A company that communicates to exist and share its qualities, shortcomings, and values is a company that stands behind its choices.
What is an ethical shoe?
An ethical shoe is made with durable and/or locally sourced materials. It is created with respect for the environment, animals, and people.
An ethical shoe can incorporate upcycling and the recycling of recovered materials in its design, so as to limit the impact of so-called "conventional" shoes. Beyond the environmental aspect, an ethical footwear brand chooses to work with factories that care about the wellbeing of their employees. Ethical shoes are manufactured with respect for Human Rights.

Buy less, but better: that is the commitment we set for ourselves.
By creating eco-responsible shoes, we made the commitment to craft footwear built to last. Rather than using petroleum-derived materials such as polyester, or drawing on already scarce natural resources, we have selected quality recycled materials such as cork and grape marc. Working with short supply chains allows us to reduce transport between our various partners and minimise our carbon footprint. Designed in Bordeaux, our shoes are crafted in a small family workshop in Portugal.
Knowing your partners and understanding who makes your shoes changes everything!
